Would you like to give any background on the nickname Yazoo? It's cute and edearing, but I am curious about its origin.

My brother, Joshua, worked for a drunk old Italian chef... he couldn't pronounce Josh (perhaps the ethnicity, or the drink, or both...) and called him--- in a long drawl "ya-zoo" as in "Ya-zoo, get me 2... egg". His limited English was the center of many a family story... ask Josh for more.

I've been lurking on your Blogs since the inception....guess it is time to speak up. First off, what is with Boo-boo's hair cut? Is it my imagination or is he looking more and more like a marine barber got ahold of him? LOL ;o) The poor darlin' is going to have to have his Grammy come talk to his Mommy. But then....You already know her thoughts on "let it grow!" (**clears throat and moves on**)

Your pictures and editorials are awesome Kelly! I miss getting to be with you all everyday to experience all the life altering changes, so this runs a 2nd best to being able to be there. THANKS!
Keep 'em coming...they really warm my heart and brighten my days!

I had to chuckle at the awakening you've had as to the importance of the priority for space in the cupboard/on the floor/in the drawers etc. that you've established for things you didn't own (some you didn't even know about) a year ago. I need to advise you to just plan on shoving your things to the back side of where-ever for the next 18 to 20 years because nothing you have anymore is as important as having August's necessities readily available. FYI ~ "necessities" includes everything from Cheerios to toy trucks.

As he continues to grow, don't discard the favorite things he has outgrown. Pack 'em up and find a corner somewhere to store them...both he and you will be drawn back in time, especially you, with these loved items when he's grown and you bring the box of memories out to give him for his child!

Shine on!
Love,
Mom/Grammy
