So here's the first update on Becket's Birth-Day.

Things are looking great. Kelly has much less post-labor pain than with Augie, and is moving around well and seeing any visitors all day long. So feel free to swing by.

Becket came out screaming but has significantly mellowed this morning sleeping most of the time that I saw him from 7 til 11. He is latching on very well, and just basically staying bundled all the time.

Augie is trying his best not to acknowledge Becket so far, but he is doing well anyway. We'll see how he does tomorrow when we bring Becket home.

Mark on your calendar that we will be having the bris celebration Saturday at some time.

I will get new pictures up as soon as possible. I just forgot my camera.

I'll post later today,
Jeff

Our little reader! No kidding... he loves it. If only he had more words to show for it. So far we have "buh" for bite, "gluck" for drink... and I am pretty sure he said "sucks" the other day.

Grandpa Quinlan's Stetson

in it's familiar spot. (Representing all the family who was there watching and celebrating from above.)

I liked being the "bear ringer" until I saw my Mommy and realized it wasn't her that was holding me.

May I have this dance for the rest of my life?

No explaination necessary!!!

I do!

Yup, it's official. Augie Bloggie is now COOK BOOK! Congratulations Amy Sue on the great name, and thanks everyone who contributed. Although I have a feeling that the name Augie Bloggie will die hard.

On another note, thanks to everyone who helped to celebrate Josh and Kristie's wedding. It was wonderful to know that you keep up with us through the blog. It makes our hearts happy to think of our family (notice I don't say friends, you are all family... right Debbie O!) all over the country reading our adventures.

Coming soon... the wedding pics and (hopefully... any-day-now) Becket!

xoxo

Something else Grammy has, that Kelly and Jeff can't compete with.... Grampa with all the time in the world to spend with Augie in the hottub!

Last chance to suggest a new name for the blog. My current favorite is Cook Book (Amy Sue) ... but I love all the suggestions. Any others before the die is cast (dramatic music playing)?
We hung out with our friend Dimitri the other night while his parents went on a date. We had a great time! No real crying, no trouble for 2 whole hours!

This was a great test run for us to see if we are ready for a baby brother... and by we I mean Jeff and I.

Augie was ready too. He played the excellent big brother game that goes like this: I am going to take every toy you have, even though I don't want it for myself. Very advanced.

Dimitri was a doll, and believe it or not it put my mind at ease (although not at rest) about having 2 boys at once.

A couple of times Aug got frustrated with Dimitri... mostly the attention he got, but I am not too worried. He played well with him over all.

I included this last picture just because it is so funny that he is throwing fits of frustration. Funny in the "wow, look at my son communicate way"... okay it is not always funny, but I only blog when my attitude is tops (for instance, I am eating a frozen -for babysitters only- pizza while my wonderful son naps for 3 hours. I guarentee the blog-charm changes at 4pm.

At the end of it all Augie just got tired and quit. Oh well!

The night was honestly great, and still I am nervous to have two babies.

What did I learn

1. We made ourselves eat dinner and watch a movie while both boys were here... so we can live a life sometimes with 2 babies

2. You think you have to watch one all the time, and then you have 2. I may not pee for the next year!

3. Augie is probably going to be the tough one (surprise, surprise)

4. Dimitri is adoreable and fun. Makes me excited for Becket

5. There are already toys that are fine for Augie that won't be fine for Becket

6. I must acheive a state of constant zen to make this work (can you hear the fear in my fingers yet)--- but BLESSEDLY, I think I can find that spot

7. I think my mom is going to have to come live with us until, oh, they boys are 10 and 11.

8. Aug. is pretty much going to sit with me the whole time I nurse, rock or hold Beck.

9. I love my sons, and even with my reservation I am so excited to see them play

10. Did you read #7 mom? I am not kidding- pack your bags!

A new game for Augie is putting on my flip flops and walking around. Every parent has a picture like this and every parent thinks it is the cutest thing ever... and it is!
