Augie-bean is growing unbelievably. We are both constantly commenting to eachother that he is doing things so quickly and so well. He doesn't seem to want or need our help much lately. I am proud to say that we all "worked" for about an hour straight last night. Kel worked on the Christmas letter, Jeff on church stuff and Aug pushing a giant water bottle around the living room.

Our little man is the exploring fool. Lately he has been amazing at rolling balls, gords, bottles, bells and anything else even slightly "rolly" across the floor. Other games of interest: putting things on head, taking things off mommy's head, typing on his fake key board, grabbing cats (okay, that has always been one), standing up on any slightly sturdy surface... and I do mean slightly and squeeling with delight.

We have been working on falling asleep on a schedule for a few weeks. He doesn't really fuss, just gets up and talks and plays instead. Here, at 9 am nap time, we caught him in mid-standup as he fell asleep. It was all we could do not to laugh and wake him up as we took these pictures.

Thanksgiving break, Chapter three:
The most amazing thing for me was being a family together. In the midst of the travel, the schedule differences, some stress and lots of celebration my favorite part was being with Jeff and Augie. Watching them be loved by everyone around them. Settling down to new environments together at night. There is a funny bit of … triumph?… that happens when you survive changing routine, bailing naps, eating sporattically. I loved yesterday just to watch Augie nap. To see his little chest rise and fall and see his face so content. To know that because we have each other we can be happy even outside of our comfort zone. And to know that there are so many people that support us so readily and so completely, so the foreignness of leaving home is not so tough. It can be hell to travel with a baby- especially our baby. This was a delight.

Thanksgiving break, Chapter two:We then traveled to Denver to meet the Lowe/Vaughan clan. We went met up with our wonderful family from Spain, saw the sights, had more turkey and played with our cousin, Rosa. Highlights: Fernanda’s fan, our tall buddy from Manchester: Mark, Stealing toys from Rosa, having her steal them back. Our Great-Papa Tom’s wit. Taking a bath in Nana’s sink, playing with mixing bowls, spoons, bells, and all sorts of “toys” that mom didn’t bring. Lots and lots of Einstein videos in the car to keep us happy- oh and all the junk food you could imagine.

Thanksgiving break, Chapter one:
We had such a wonderful vacation this week. So much to be thankful for. We started off in Glenwood and saw Papa Mark and Marmie. We went shopping, of course, and bought great new toys. We got to eat our first turkey dinner there--- of which Augie had mashed tatoes. Jeff got to run off some of the weight to come with Dad. Kel got to put on some practice pounds eating Chocolate with Kris. Highlights: trying to take our Christmas card picture—again and again and again--- Watching the food network, squealing with delight as we chased Jazzy around, Reading the numbers book with Marmie, and Papa, and Jeff, and Kel… all in one day, Watching Papa do Yoga.

9 months old! These are some of mommies favorite pictures... especially the jammies

We also have a new game... chase the rolling gord. If only I had known that different types of squash were the best toy ever, we would have saved the money on the swing that sits in storage and the exersaucer that is covered in cobwebs. Oh well!

We are crawling! Jeff has a really cool video that he can send you if your computer can handle it... or enjoy my low-tech presentation- here! The funny thing here is that I was calling Augie to come to me and Mao was sure it was all about him! Hence, that cat in almost every picture I tried to take.

Grammy and Grandpa Langley come about once a week to see thier favorite (okay, only) grandbaby... and mom and dad couldn't be more thankful to have a few hours to work and rest. On this adventure they played in leaves, went to Bubba's BBQ and ate mashed potatoes, tapioca (and probably several other things my mom won't tell me about), watched baby einstein, sang 3 blind mice about a million times and some how cleaned the house (yes mom, I noticed). Mommy and daddy would have accomplished one of these things in the 4 hour time period--- Praise the Lord for grandparents!
